Chris McCormick’s interest in landscape architecture stems from frequent trips to his hometown state’s capitol of Providence.  Inspired by the urban realm, he used his studio projects while in school to pursue a regional scale of research and design. His work seeks to enhance art, nature, and social equity in urban places around the world.

During his time at the University of Rhode Island, Chris consistently found ways to engage the community in the design process. This trait, coupled with his summer experience working with Mexican Architect, Mario Schjetnan, in Mexico City, led to him being named a 2019 LAF Olmsted Scholar. Outside of the design studio, Chris spends his free time in his home studio recording original songs.
